The French champion of self-service micro-mobility, Pony, starts 2021 with a bang, winning the prize for the best mobility startup in Europe and setting a record for the pre-sale of its shared scooters and electric bicycles.

Early January, Demeter portfolio company pony won first place in the prestigious European Startup Prize for mobility. competition. Having been selected from among 550 startup candidates, the jury, which is made up of mobility experts, praised the originality of its model, its environmental performance and its innovative capacity.

A few days earlier, the company announced the figures for pre-sales of electric scooters and bicycles on its website: in 6 hours, pony sold 1.3 million euros worth of shared vehicles. By the end of December 2020, pony launched its international adoption platform for the first time. More than 1,000 pony bikes and scooters were sold on this occasion. In a few hours, several hundred people chose to invest in a micro-vehicle and let it be shared in Brussels, Paris, Liège, Grenoble or Lisbon. This craze demonstrated both the very high expectations of local citizens in terms of micromobility and the strength of the pony’s participative model.
