As a pioneer and leader in investment for the ecological transition, we are more than ever convinced that it is essential to invest in the long term on the structuring sectors: the environment, energy, agriculture, health. In 2020, DEMETER was particularly dynamic by successfully investing in 15 new companies and conducting 26 reinvestments. A remarkable performance that reflects our know-how, the dynamism of our markets and the talent of our entrepreneurs.
With assets under management of more than one billion euros, DEMETER confirms its management model combining financial performance and commitment on a high level of ESG requirement. The ESG indicators of the companies in our portfolio in 2020 demonstrate this: their activities have prevented 3.9 million tonnes of CO2 emissions and generated 430 GWh of renewable energy.
Our new ESG & Impact Report demonstrates that we have strengthened our requirement in all dimensions of the ESG approach with the creation of scoring tools concerning ESG risks and negative impacts on sustainability factors, investments in companies that are fully involved in decarbonization and the launch of 3 new funding projects focused on energy transition. Finally, throughout 2020, we promoted ESG practices in our ecosystem through our interventions with the French Climate Commission, Finance for Biodiversity and Climate Risks; as well as to our employees through the workshop “Women executives and investors, creators of value and performance” or the implementation of concrete measures to reduce the carbon footprint of our management company.
In 2020, we received 4 awards for our pioneering and leading role in ESG.
